Starting in 2011, Malibu began offering a 1,100GPH version of the Piranha pump as part of their Hi-Flo ballast system. With a larger capacity motor and 1-1/8" discharge connection, an increase in volume of over 37% meant ballast filled and drained faster than ever.

Pump came with more then enough wire. I used plug-in attachment connectors on the wires. I like that when it comes time to replace all ill have to do is unplug the wires, unscrew the motor from housing, plug in & screw new motor into housing (bought a back up motor as well that i prewired the plug-in connectors on and will leave in boat)
I use this to replace a ballast drain pump in my 2011 Axis A22 . The inlet and outlet or larger than factory, but the pump body was the same size so it fits right into the old pump housing and once it was wired up it worked perfectly. Slightly faster than the old 800 even with the same inlet and outlet plumbing.
Bought this to replace OEM ballast pump in 03 Malibu LSV to fill 1100# fat sacs in rear compartments. Fit perfectly, installed easily, and fills bags quicker. Nice product.
My original Shurflo Piranha pumps have lasted 4 years (200 hours in my case). I've only had one fail so far. That is not bad for basically a livewell plastic pump. Wakemaker's price for the exact replacement & their quick shipping can't be beat. You could try to find a replacement motor cartridge - but I've yet to find one at a good price point. The new one works just like the original. Note: you don't have to pull the entire pump out of the boat. You can just remove the top & pull out the motor. Then put the new motor in the old housing if you want to.
