Inboard Boat Propeller Hardware Kit

The components used to secure a propeller to the prop shaft are realistically only designed to be used two times, after which they should be replaced.
The max torque when tightening this nut on the shaft should be 35 ft/lbs.
This kit includes everything you'll need when changing the Acme propeller on your boat:
- Nylock Lock Nut
- Cotter Pin
Note: This hardware kit will not work with older style shafts that make use of a castle nut and cotter pin arrangement. These are typically found on boats from the late 70's to early 80's.
Works as expected, I didn't end up using the new Keyway that came with the package though...it was considerably shorter than the stock one that came with my 14' SUPRA SC 350.
<i>NOTE: Thank you for the feedback regarding the size of the key in our replacement kit. Based on other feedback we have switched to a longer key with this kit which should be a direct replacement for the key that came on your boat.

Does the Job
This will get the job done and is good to have as a backup.
Easy to use - A must with changing a Prop more than 3-times
New Prop install
Great to have
I ordered this with a new Acme prop. Great to have these around as a backup. 15$ worth of parts could save you 450$ + if you dont replace the hardware and you lose your prop.
You should just buy two of these to have on had in the event that you hit something. It's a must have so you don't get stuck out there.
A must have with a new prop order
Like others have mentioned, this is a must if you are installing a new prop on your boat. Yes, it is quite pricey for what it is, but if you are investing that kind of money in a new prop... what's a little more going to hurt when it is protecting that investment? Just add it to your cart, you will not regret it.
Always nice to have a spare around.
You need it
You need this to finish the job. And the price is the best I could find online. This is my second one. the first one installed perfectly. So I had to get one for the spare prop
Great product and was the best price around.
You need it to finish the job!
A little pricey for a nut, pin and key but you need it to properly complete the job!
Refinished prop, installed with nice new hardware.
After 10 years of problem free boating, I struck a rock while backing out of a sandbar. For $15.99, why not insure a $300+ newly refinished prop with a new cotter, nut, and key? No brainer.
Luckily I read previous reviews and ordered the hardware kit with my prop. Kit was great but the key did not fit the slot in my drive line (too long) so I just reused my existing key. Worked great.
