This green impeller (Jabsco part #:6303-0107) is the latest generation wakeboard ballast impeller from Jabsco, designed specifically for use in Jabsco Ballast Puppy pumps powering automated wakeboard ballast system. This is the OEM impeller for MasterCraft, Correct Craft (Air Nautique), Supra, Moomba, Yamaha, and Centurion.

If you've been having problems with your system draining or filling correctly, or if water is leaking into or out of the tanks or bags while the pumps are turned off, the green ballast pump impeller is designed to fix that completely.

Impellers are a wear item, so over time the efficiency of the pump will be reduced as the compound of the impeller breaks down. That means your wakeboard ballast system will take longer to fill and drain than it did when newer. Replacing a damaged or worn out impeller will restore the speed and functionality of your Jabsco Ballast Puppy pump to like new condition. If you have an original Jabsco Ballast Puppy with a black rubber or yellow neoprene impeller this is a great upgrade you can make to increase the speed and functionality of your system.

If you've installed additional bags on top of your factory hard tank ballast system (as is popular in Mastercraft and Nautique wakeboard boats) then this upgrade is essential in order to ensure that both the tank and bag will fill completely, and stay full while wakesurfing and wakeboarding.

HOW-TO: Change the Impeller on a Jabsco Ballast Puppy Pump

MasterCraft Jabsco Ballast Puppy Pump Impeller Replacement Instructions:
Step 1: Remove two of the front cover screws. (Note: Retain the screws for the reinstallation process) Swing the cover up and out of the way to allow access to the impeller location. the impeller may be black, yellow or green depending on the age of the pump.
Step 2: Using needle-nose pliers, pull the old impeller out of the casing.
Step 3: Install the new impeller. (It is intentionally larger than the case. While gently squeezing it in, ensure that the paddle wheels angle in the same direction--counterclockwise--all the way around.)
Step 4: Slide the plate back into place. NO SILICONE IS NECESSARY due to the built-in gasket, tightening the screws should prevent leakage.

this product seems to have sped up the filling operations of the two v drive sacs I have it connected to, but I have not actually timed it old vs new impeller.

  2. Pretty good build

This part is a bit softer than the standard black rubber materials that are used on the ballast pump. I ordered one after my center ballast went out and have to order to more as my left and right ballast went out at the same time after 4 seasons of use. The impeller has a pretty good quality build from what it appears to be and was gently greased prior to packaging to ensure sustainability. Not sure how long these will last but hopefully longer than the stock part.

the jabsco greens are the way to go if your factory ballast impellers have gone out, or you are looking to upgrade. my 2006 nastercraft x2 impellers stopped on me and i went with these. i could not be any more pleased with them. they have cut my empty/fill time by at least 50%. the pressure out of the side of the boat when emptying is amazing. the difference to me is like night and day. i highly urge you to go with these and disregard any other impellers. you will thank me if you do!

  4. Poor quality

The black plastic piece in the center of the impeller failed after only a few uses allowing the motor shaft to spin without engaging the impeller. Old black ones were metal. Pretty expensive for a single use item!

NOTE: This is a defect in the impeller, and is covered under warranty if encountered. It effects and extremely small percentage of impellers, but if it does happen contact us and we'll exchange it for free.

  5. New life to my pump!

I forgot how fast my pump could pump until I replaced the impeller. My bags fill up in half the time. This is a maintenance item and should be replaced regularly like the rest of the yearly maintenance items on your boat. Very simple, remove three screws, pull out the old impeller, put in the new one, and reinstall the three screws. It could not be any easier.

  6. Middle hardness works as advertised

Original Puppy only used to fill had black impeller and buildup, was hard, and popped fuses. Tried yellow and my ballast would drain out by itself quickly as it was very soft. Moved to Green and it's inbetween hardness. I upgraded ballast bags from a 750 to 1100 and the Green started leaking. Sanded down the brass on the puppy and went back to black.
On a fill only puppy system, I recommend Black.
I just added another Johnson Ultra Reverse where I'll drain and fill and Green is the best way to go.

  7. Green Mastercraft Impeller

I have having issues with my Mastercraft's Ballast System. It was losing suction and was running really slow so I swapped out the old yellow impellers for the New Green Impellers and what do you know... They did the trick. This is the best upgrade I have done to my boat in a while. It is probably the least expensive option too.

  8. Somewhat better that last flavor

Impeller colors for these pumps seem to change on a yearly basis. The lastest "flavotr" green seems to be the best so far (other colors being black and yellow). I did see a noticable performance imporvement on my KGB tank on my MasterCraft 07 X2. Performance on the back tanks seem to be about the same.

$38 for an impeller is stiff but much better than I've seem at other outlets. Once again Wake Makers leads the way in affordable products to keep us all on the water enjoying our hobbies. I'd love to see them expenad to include other pump maintainance items such as pump shaft seals.
