  • 2015 Ronix Koal Power Tail Wakesurf Board

The best-selling Koal Powertail returns for 2015 with design improvements to give you an even better ride than last year.

After a big year as the best-selling board in the Ronix line in 2014, The Ronix Koal Powertail returns for 2015 with the reputation as a stable wakesurf board that is quick and responsive. The Powertail shape features extra surface area in the tail for more leverage and bigger airs off the top deck. With the wider tail profile, it makes it possible to ride a smaller board and since this Ronix Koal surfboard is the same shape as the Carbon Powertail you get the same fast rocker line, with that hard edging but stable profile and rail design, without the carbon price tag.

This wide tail shape features a machined concaved top deck that will increase your board control and overall board feel, along with a more pronounced EVA top deck with a built in tail wedge. A favorite of Ronix team riders, this wakesurf board has the bottom turn drive of a thruster, the stable aspects of a longboard, and enough speed to be capable of riding smaller wakes.

The Koal Powertail wakesurf board is constructed like a modern surfboard with a foam core wrapped in epoxy fiberglass. These boards are reasonably durable, lighter, faster and more buoyant then a standard compression mold, so you have to be a little more careful with them, but the performance aspects are noticeable. The Ronix Koal surfboard comes with 3 fins (1 – 2.9” surf specific bottom mount fin and 2 – 2.3” surf specific bottom mount fins) that can be adjusted for a more locked in or loose feel.

New for 2015, the Koal wakesurfers are “handcrafted by robots.” Ronix uses CNC machines (a cousin of the robot family) to craft their cores, so they are milled out to their exact specifications every time. Then the exact amount of glass and resin is applied to each board and vacuum bagged, ensuring that you get the strongest, lightest layup on every board.

Epoxy Fiberglass: Built like a modern ocean surfboard, epoxy fiberglass boards combine the best in performance with a reasonably durable construction. Ligher weight, and a fully wrapped foam core with continuous rail surface make for a boat that rides high in the water and is fast.

    Best yet!
John Spoon Best board I've ridden yet. A real slasher with grip. Love the way it rides. I'm 215 and road my friends 4'5" and it outperformed everything. I'm ordering my 4'11" ASAP!!
