Ronix One Modello Wakeboard
Danny Harf's One is the best performing, most user friendly Wakeboard in Ronix history. From total beginners to guys that have been riding their entirely lives this proven shape can accommodate everyone. The new Modello edition is the most affordable version that has ever been released. The only true different between this board and the ATR or Timebomb is the core construction. Without wrapping the foam in carbon fiber the price stays lower. Don't worry as the rebound in the Ronix One Modello is still as snappy as ever.
In 2007, Danny came to the table with the all white simply designed One board shape. It was the best selling board for us that year because of it's freeride signature style. Even with the 4 removable fins, two on each end, this board had mellower transitioned turns without the grip that we assumed it was going to have. The core and construction characteristics provide a buoyant feel on the water with a very smooth 3-stage kick off the wake.
For this season Danny knew his signature board needed to be focused to compete against all of the lower priced point intermediate boards on the market. Without giving up performance the board designers and engineers needed to make this new rendition more rider friendly.
They started by making the One ride even less grippy on the water which was achieved by recessing the fin locations inside of the channel for a quicker release. For most boards this is a flaw because the looser feeling sacrifices stability. When a smoother blend in the variable rail was fine tuned it was clear that this board would feel more controlled when rolling from edge to edge and that flaw was no longer an issue. Parks Bonifay was tapped to help provide feed back to create a new type of rocker style that would provide less drag for added glide speed.
From his many years riding the most aggressive wakeboards that the industry had to offer, Parks discovered that every aspect of the One board’s rocker line and variable rail needed to be rebuilt with a focus on the least amount of resistance with the water. Very quickly the new least expensive Ronix One Board had some of the most overall speed into the wake.
Like Paul always says, “The future of freeride designs will promote the ability for riders to stay on the water longer because they will not have to work as hard.”
