These wide band stainless steel hose clamps are perfect for ballast systems because they provide excellent clamping force on the shorter barbs that are typically found on ballast parts and fittings.

Made fully of stainless steel, they won't corrode over time, which means your connections will always look great. And, since the worm drive unit is stainless also, they will be just as easy to adjust as the day it was when you installed them, which you'll appreciate if you ever need to change a hose or remove a connection.

Plus, they're cheaper than the galvanized variety you'll find at your local home improvement store, so you get better quality, for less money. What's not to like about that?

UPDATE: Based on feedback from our customers (see customer reviews for more information), we have changed suppliers for this product to a wider, thicker band that can handle more force without breaking or bending. The result is a better product that will tighten more uniformly, for the same price.

I purchased a few things to upgrade from hard tanks to a Jumbo Sac in my Centurion Avy. I bought these clamps to save myself a trip to Home Depot. These clamps have a narrower profile than the stock ones in the boat. All of them twisted as they tightened down and quite a few snapped at the housing (the metal band that straddles the screw and band). I ended up replacing them.

NOTE: Thanks for your feedback! Based on your comments, and those of other customers we have switched suppliers to source a clamp with a wider band (1/2" instead of 5/16" that you received), and thicker gauge to resist twisting or breakage. You should have absolutely no problem with the new clamps we're selling now.
