The Koal Fish surfboard features a fast swallowtail design that will ride high in the water with a full rail, creating more glide speed and a more forgiving feel.
The Ronix Koal Fish is the most universal wakesurf board in the Ronix line. Combining a little bit of all their technology to give you a wake surf that will be a good time for a wide variety of riders, this wakesurf board also gives you everything you need to ride any size wake.
The Koal Fish wakesurf board features a new concave top deck for more board control and a machined EVA top deck with a built in tail wedge for more leverage. The Fish also has 3 fin options (1 – 2.9” surf specific bottom mount fin, 2 – 2.3” surf specific bottom mount fins) that are customizable to give you the ability to ride the wakesurf board with a loose or locked-in feel on the wake.
Constructed like a modern surfboard with a foam core wrapped in epoxy fiberglass, the Koal Fish boards are reasonably durable, lighter, faster and more buoyant then a standard compression mold. So you have to be a little more careful with them, but the performance aspects are noticeable.
New for 2015, the Koal wakesurfers are “handcrafted by robots.” Ronix uses CNC machines (a cousin of the robot family) to craft their cores, so they are milled out to their exact specifications every time. Then the exact amount of glass and resin is applied to each board and vacuum bagged, ensuring that you get the strongest, lightest layup on every board.
Epoxy Fiberglass: Built like a modern ocean surfboard, epoxy fiberglass boards combine the best in performance with a reasonably durable construction. Ligher weight, and a fully wrapped foam core with continuous rail surface make for a boat that rides high in the water and is fast.
