  • MasterCraft NXT20 Funny Video

Disclaimer: The thoughts expressed below are random and come from a thirst for fun and adventure that no office can provide on a Friday afternoon.

This shoot looked like a blast. Must be nice to hang out at Lake Ronix for an afternoon of fun. Who would be the best company to work for while producing this NXT20 edit? I think Tom Czarnowski at Nemo Designs has a pretty good gig but you can't beat the sheer number of days, MasterCraft's, Josh Shave has on the water. We might have to give it to Tom since he lives in beautiful, Portland Oregon. I am not downplaying how rad the state of Tennessee is, but it's still not Oregon.

This marketing piece for the new NTX20 does showcase the talents of Mr. Travis Pastrana and Mr. Parks Bonifay. I guess if I had Jeff Tremaine giving me direction I would be on my A game as well.

  • 2014 MasterCraft NXT Wakeboard Boat Video Showcase

Sit back, grab your favorite bevy, and spend the next 40 minutes letting Insane Zane tell you all about the new 2014 MasterCraft NXT wakeboard boat. This could be the best boat in the market under $50K. The new automated Gen2'ish surf tabs and factory ballast system will have this hull displaced and leaning.

There are three factory ballast tanks in the rear port, rear starboard and mid ship area. They all weigh 300lbs. for a total capacity of 900 lbs. Since MasterCraft is getting back to the basics they have done away with reversible ballast pumps and instead are filling and draining the ballast with dedicated aerator pumps. This will provide a boost in flow speed and should have all of the tanks full in less than 3 minutes.

The engineering and production department at WakeMakers are already developing the NXT Factory Ballast System Upgrade Kit. Their mission is to provide the optimal weight to get the most out of the NXT20 hull.

  • MasterCraft NXT Price Point Wakeboard Boat Coming

MasterCraft is set to announce the release of a price point wakeboard boat at 6pm Eastern time today. We are excited to hear what this new boat will do and what it will actually come equipped with.

The lower cost model is nothing new for Mastercraft as they sold the X1, ProStar 205V hull, for many years and in turn attracted a broader base to the brand.

If $50k does indeed land you a decently equipped wakeboard/wakesurf boat, they will be sold out before the first one rolls off of the assembly line. This new model should fit nicely in the lower price point level with Axis and Moomba.

MasterCraft unveiled a boat under what looks to be a giant sheet. The companies first entry level boat series is named the NXT. This brand new hull shape comes in a compact 20-foot length and is built in the same Tennessee factory as the rest of their legendary line of premium towboats. Customers that want to jump into a MasterCraft can do so with small $400 monthly payment.

Not interested in buying a new Mastercraft yet? We can help your old boat perform like new with an upgraded prop or a factory ballast upgrade.

  • 2014 MasterCraft Gen 2 Wakesurf System Released

It's no secret that MasterCraft has been working very hard to develop a functional surf system. It appears that 2014 is the year that MC has caught up with the rest of the industry. Last week at the national sales meeting they introduced and demoed the Gen 2 wakesurf wave enhancing system. The new system uses asymmetrical tabs that are dependent to the running surface of the boat that they are attached. From the video below it looks like it works.

We do want to note that the wave transfer on the X-10 does seem to be fluid enough for a transfer. There might be an issue when the customer steps up in size. The implementation of the product is not consistent with the other finished products on MasterCraft boats. This is not the fit and finish that would have been assumed for one of the most expensive product lines in the industry.

For 2014 MasterCraft's plug and play ballast system is coming back. Although information is still being gathered we can report that it is still a very expensive option and the bags will need to be upgraded. We will have 2014 MasterCraft wakesurf ballast upgrade bags available in order to provide a higher level of performance when compared to what is offered by your local dealer.
